What is a Fitness Boot Camp?

The term "fitness boot camp" was seemingly derived from the idea of a military-style boot camp in which individuals are pushed hard physically to achieve better results in shorter periods of time. Today, fitness boot camps have become all the rage among celebrities, on reality TV shows and among everyday people. A fitness boot camp can be created and executed by fitness trainers, both outdoors and at gyms, and continue to grow in popularity because they provide a sense of accountability. Fitness boot camps are also a great place in which friendships can be created and teach individuals how to exercise more effectively and learn healthier habits.

Boot Camp Workout

A boot camp style workout focuses on helping you lose weight by replacing your fat with lean defined muscle using a combination of both traditional and non-traditional styles of exercise. A boot camp workout involves heavy aerobics and students of this form of exercise have reaped many of the great benefits of physical fitness as a result. Some techniques used include stair-climbing, push-ups, sit ups, competitive activities and group activities to promote camaraderie and teamwork.
